Macon County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jesse Gentry responded to 6959 Carthage Road on Wednesday, September 15, to investigate a dog shooting.

According to his report, when he arrived he spoke to Terry Domron who stated that his dog had been shot in the back legs and was almost dead.

Domron reportedly stated that Huey Smith had shot his brother's dog and he had allegedly seen Smith shoot the dog and then run back into the house.

Deputy Gentry then spoke to Smith who stated he did not shoot the dog but he did hear two shots at 9:50 p.m. come from the direction of his neighbors house, J.N. Rainy.

Deputy Gentry then spoke Rainy who stated that he heard a noise and saw a white dog and a black dog killing his cat. He showed Gentry the cat. Rainy stated that he shot the dogs hitting the black dog.

Allegedly, this is not the first time Rainy has shot at the dogs. No charges were filed at this time.
