Opal Beatrice Cook, 83, a resident of Knollwood Manor in Lafayette, Tennessee, and formerly of Sycamore Street, passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at Knollwood Manor. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Friday, December 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Henry Dink Lonas and Lela Pearl King Lonas, and was a homemaker. She was married to the late Harold D. Cook.

She is survived by a sister, Plumie Merritt, of Lafayette, TN; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Terry and Connie Cook, Jerry and Trena Cook, Lisa and Edward Stankard, Sr., Shelia and Joey Jones, Angie and Joey Burgener, Retta and Lannie Robinson, all of Lafayette, TN; 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Billy W. Cook and Calvin D. Cook, 2 brothers and a sister, Calcie Drury.

Funeral services for Opal Beatrice Cook were conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Thomas Earl Roark officiating. Burial was in Galen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Cook, Terry Cook, Daniel Cook, Caleb Stankard, Edward Stankard, Sr., and Joey Burgener.

Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.
