Funeral services for Lou Ellen Turner Kirby, age 84, of 146 Christi Circle, Red Boiling Springs, TN, were conducted Wednesday, August 25, 2004, 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Her family and friends served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery.

Lou Ellen Turner Kirby passed away Sunday evening, August 22, 2004 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette.

She was the daughter of the late William and Emma Stafford Turner. On Sept. 11, 1937, she was married to Dee Edward Kirby, who preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy Kirby; half-sister, Willie Cunningham; and grandsons, Scott Howard Rush and Charles Thomas Kirby. She was a homemaker and member of Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ.

Survivors include daughters: Doris (Neal) Jenkins and Mabeline (Kenneth) Carter, all of Red Boiling Springs and Barbara Rush of Cookeville; half-sister, Gertrude Whittemore of Carthage; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
