According to Lt. Satterfield, the boyfriend of the mother, Carroll, was in court Monday, June 7, when his case was presented to the grand jury.
Carroll was arrested earlier this year after the child went into a seizure and had to be taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center where doctors determined the child had injuries consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome.
While in court June 7, it was determined that the mother of the child had failed to report injuries that the child had sustained during a four month period. Those injuries included a fractured bone and a dislocated shoulder.
Meador has now been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated child abuse. Her bond was set at $50,000. She remains lodged at the Macon County Jail. Her court date has been set for August during a special session of criminal court.
The child remains in the custody of the state and is staying with a special needs foster family.
