On Sunday, May 16, 2004,at approximately 5:00 a.m., The Lafayette City Police Department received a call from a concerned citizen of a suspicious vehicle parked on Meador Drive. Sergeant Ray Amalfitano and Officer Jeff Tucker responded to the call. Upon their arrival, the vehicle had left the area. The officers continued to patrol when Officer Tucker spotted the vehicle, a green 1996 Pontiac, in the parking lot near Presley's Pizza. The suspects jumped out of the car and fled on foot.

Sergeant Amalfitano and Officer Tucker radioed to request back up to seal off the area. Lt.
