Metro Nashville Police were close to catching Roy Enoch over the weekend, but he managed to slip away. The inmate who escaped from the Macon County Jail April 8, while reportedly cleaning a courtroom, has now been at large for over a week.

Authorities traced Enoch to a house on Percy Priest Drive in Donelson Saturday night, but when they knocked on the door, he ran off.

Enoch reportedly startled several neighbors by running through their backyards and jumping over a fence.

K-9 units were brought to the area to aid in the search.

A stolen truck was found in the parking area of a motel where Enoch is believed to have been living. The truck belonged to a Macon County man. Authorities speculate that Enoch removed the tags from a truck matching the description of the stolen vehicle and placed those tags on the stolen vehicle.

Inside the stolen vehicle police found the clothing believed to have been worn by Enoch when he escaped from the jail.

If anyone has information concerning his location contact the Macon County Sheriff's Department at 666-3325 or your local authorities.
