Westmoreland visited Macon County on Tuesday, Jan. 20 and captured a victory defeating the home team 34-19.

After the first quarter of play nothing was solved as the teams took turns making baskets and ending the period tied 7-7.

The second quarter accomplished very little with the Tigerettes netting just three points while holding the Eaglettes to only five.

In the third, Westmoreland went up 14-10 as both teams managed to put some points on the scoreboard. A Tigerette 5-0 run pulled the home team to within two, however Westmoreland scored from the charity stripe with just over a minute left and the teams went into the fourth with the Tigerettes down 20-15.

The fourth quarter was ugly for the Tigerettes as they managed to net only four points while the Eaglettes dominated the game and put 14 points up to go with their 20 ending the game Macon County 19, Westmoreland 34.

Scoring: Holly Compton led the 9-10 Tigerette team with 8 points; Brandi Sircy 2; Courtney Thomas 6; Kristen Wix 3.
