On Friday night the Macon County squad traveled to Springfield in a district game. The Springfield team dominated the first half of play racing to a 8-3 advantage at the buzzer. The trend continued in the second, as the Tigerettes trailed at half-time 16-12.
But in the third the Tigerettes began to make some moves and managed to outscore their opponents 5-2 but ended the third quarter still down by six with a score of Springfield 26-Macon County 20.
With under seven minutes left in the game Springfield took to the court to seal the win. They put up 16, while allowing the Tigerettes to net only nine. The final score gave the district win to Springfield 42 to Macon County 29.

Lady Bulldogs improve record, defeat MCHS Tigerettes
In a battle of the Tigerettes and the Lady Bulldogs the first three quarters of play was tight with neither team being able to get much of a lead.
The end of the first found the Lady Dogs with a slim one point lead.
Early in the second the Tigerettes miss a three point shot, Whitney Jordan with hot hands for the night comes down with the rebound. Team mate Kayce Colter shoots for three and makes the lead 14-13. For the Tigerettes Tia Troutt finds Holly Compton who finds Brandi Sircy wide open, Sircy shoots and ties the game 15-15. Whitney Jordan draws a foul and goes to the line and remains perfect. The charity shots give Red Boiling the lead 17-15. Stayce Colter takes the lane and increases the lead by four. Trying to cut the lead, Whitney Thomas shoots for three and it's good. With 3:02 left in the first half the Tigerettes are down by three. The Lady Dogs, playing good defense, forces Courtney Thomas to shoot from the three point line, it's banked in for a score. RBS freshman Rachel Painter drives the lane for two, RBS 25-MC 21. Brandi Sircy off the glass brings the Tigerettes to within two of tying the game up. Stayce Colter scores a three pointer and both Colter twins have three 3 pointers at the end of the half. The buzzer sounds with the Bulldogs having a five point lead. 28-23.
Both teams continued to answer back and forth during the third seeing both squads scoring from the free throw line.
Things changed in the fourth for the Tigerettes, as the Lady Dogs kept pounding to take the lead for good. The final score was Macon County 36 - Red Boiling Springs 49.
