Dee Kirby passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 3, 2004 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN.
A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Marshall and Mel Russell Kirby. He married the former Lou Ellen Turner on Sept. 11, 1937, who survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Kirby; sisters, Molene Ellis and Fanny Belle Kirby; brothers, Ree, Short and Sylvester Kirby; grandsons, Scott Howard Rush and Charles Thomas Kirby. Dee was a retired sawmill worker and a member of Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ.
Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Neal Jenkins, Red Boiling Springs, TN; daughter, Mrs. Barbara Rush of Cookeville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Madeline and Kenneth Carter of Red Boiling Springs; sisters, Velma Stubblefield and Betty Lou Sneed, both of Lafayette, Robbie Ellis and Jo Young, both of Franklin, IN; brothers, Clay Kirby and Bradley Kirby, both Lafayette; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
