Mildred McClard King, age 86, a resident of Knollwood Manor in Lafayette, Tennessee, and formerly of 500 Meador Drive in Lafayette passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born August 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Charles McClard and Alta Keene McClard. She was a member of Meadorville Mission-ary Baptist Church, a 50 year member of Lafayette Chapter #379 Order of the Eastern Star, and a retired secretary for the federal government. She was married on December 12, 1957 to Marvin P. King, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1987.

She is survived by 2 nieces, Brenda McClard White, Madisonville, TN; Susan McClard (Gordon) Jones, Bowling Green, KY; a nephew, Michael (Norman) McClard, Lafayette, TN; 4 great-nephews; and 1 great niece. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Durwood McClard.

Funeral services for Mildred McClard King were conducted Friday, December 26, 2003 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Deric McClard officiating. Burial was in Macon County Memorial Gardens.

Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.
