The Tennessee Highway Patrol conducted a roadblock on the Scottsville Road and Highway 52 Saturday, December 27.

The THP recognizes the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers and set up roadblocks in Macon and surrounding counties to stop vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the driver license laws of Tennessee. The THP has found these roadblocks to be an effective means of enforcing driver license laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

The roadblock is also an aggressive enforcement campaign to make the roads safer for all motorists this holiday season.

According to THP Lt. Vic Donoho, nine driver license law citations were written and two written warnings were issued. One defective vehicle citation was written and two registration law citations were written. Three non moving violations were written. These results are all from the Macon County road block.

Smith County had the highest number of speeding citations issued with eleven. They also had the only arrest made with the charge of driving under the influence.

Trousdale County had the lowest number of total enforcement activity recorded.

The roadblocks will continue in Macon County into the new year.
