The Macon County Chamber of Commerce would like to announce that Gladys Swindle has been named Grand Marshall for the 2003 Christmas Parade. Gladys has been married to Charles Swindle for 44 years. They have two children, Meshel Goodman and Terry Swindle, and three grandchildren, William Goodman, Courtney and Meagan Swindle. Gladys has been employed by Macon Bank & Trust as an Assistant Vice President for 30 years.

Gladys has been involved in the Lions Club and Rotary Club. She helped start the Macon Helps and United-Way here in Macon County. She is involved with the American Heart Association, a Chairperson for the Family First Council, has served 14 years on Community Service County Board. She serves as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Senior Citizens Center. Gladys is also an active member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
