A nineteen year old male was arrested November 28 for allegedly robbing the Westside Office of Macon Bank & Trust.
According to Macon County Sheriff Joe Ferguson, Anthony Thomas Minix is being held at the Allen County jail on charges of aggravated robbery.
Reportedly at 4:11 p.m. on November 28, the Macon County Sheriff's Department received a call that the Westside Office had been robbed. The FBI was then notified. Agent Darrell Martin arrived on the scene.
Agent Martin reported that Minix walked into the bank with a long gun, later identified as a .22 rifle. Minix allegedly asked several of the tellers for money. The tellers reportedly gave him money and he left.
According to witnesses, the young man left the scene in a 1980 model Dodge truck with no license plates heading north on the Rocky Mound Road. The sheriff's department placed an all points bulletin on the vehicle. Kentucky State Police was also notified of the incident.
Approximately three hours after the man left the bank, an Allen County Deputy, Constable, and members of the Kentucky State Police located the vehicle at 78 Mona Cherry Road in Scottsville, Kentucky.
A search warrant was then issued for the truck and house by the Kentucky State Police.
During the search the police found a black .22 rifle, a black toboggan, a pair of black gloves, and a camouflage military coat, all believed to have been used in the robbery. The police also discovered an undisclosed amount of cash. The cash was confiscated from the home.
Minix is currently being held on aggravated robbery charges. According to Agent Martin, the FBI will change the charge to a federal one later this week.
Macon Bank & Trust President, Radford West stated, "No one was hurt and business will continue as usual."
