Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Tracy Donoho investigated a two vehicle accident Thursday, September 25, at approximately 9:40 p.m.
The accident occurred on Galen Road just east of Chaffin Road and involved a 2002 Ford and a 1969 International Tractor.
Mikie Meador, age 42, of Lafayette, was reportedly traveling east on Galen Road on the International tractor.
Christos Adamopoulos, age 19, of Lafayette, was traveling west on Galen Road in the Ford. Adamopoulos reportedly crossed the center line and struck Meador's vehicle in the east bound lane. The tractor allegedly broke in half due to the collision and came to rest in a ditch. Adamopoulos' vehicle traveled off the south shoulder of the road and came to rest in the ditch. Adamopoulos was charged with underage driving while intoxicated, reckless endangerment, implied consent, and open container. Minor injuries were reported by Trooper Donoho for Meador.
Macon County Sheriff's Deputies Bill Cothron and Kimball Hall assisted in the accident.
