Mr. Frank T. McCall, Sr., 81, of the Watervale Community in Smith County, died Sunday morning, June 15, at his home following a long illness.

Services were conducted Tuesday, June 17, 2:00 p.m. from the Plunketts Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Rock City by Elder Junior Dickerson. Burial was in Manning Cemetery on the McCall family farm at Watervale.

He was married to the former Mary Helen Brim of Riddleton on January 1, 1942.

Born in the Flatrock Commun-ity of Smith County, he was the son of the late David Thomas "D.T." McCall and Amy Barrett Manning McCall. He was a farmer and a former bus driver for the Smith County school system. He was a member and deacon of Plunketts Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II where he was assigned to the 31st Air Transport Group. He was honorably discharged from the Army with the rank of ser-geant on Dec. 25, 1945.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years are five children, Tom McCall and wife Patsy of Lafayette, Jack McCall and wife Kathy of Hartsville, John D. McCall and wife Phyllis of Tanglewood, Dewey McCall and wife Reba of Hillsdale, Shari McCall Wills and husband Ken of Brentwood; four sisters, Lois McDonald and husband Cordell of South Carthage, Mary Nell Hiett and husband Tommy of Memphis, Mildred Hix and husband Charles of Cowan, Ruth Jean Garrett and husband Gary of Hendersonville; four brothers, Bro. Ray B. McCall and wife Helen of Carthage, Albert B. McCall and wife Virginia of Carthage, Dave McCall and wife Rebecca of South Carthage, John E. McCall and wife Kay of Tanglewood; ten grandchildren.
