MCHS baseball team ends season at District Tournament

After a rain delay last Thursday, the Macon County Tigers baseball tam was eliminated from District 8AA tournament action by Martin Luther King. MCHS came up a little short in the game, with the score 3-2 after 8 innings.

The game remained scoreless until late in the game, when Kyle Deering got on base with a walk in the 8th inning. Deering and Josh Hudson managed to work their way around the bases and cross home plate.

Johnathan West led the Tigers in batting in the game, going 2 for 4 and earning the only RBI in the game.

Josh Hudson and Cody Huffines each went 1 for 4 at the plate. Kyle Deering and Allen went 1 for 3.

Earlier in the week, MCHS had posted a win over Allen County by a final of 11 - 5 and a loss to Greenbrier 11-1.

In the April 30th game, the Tiger bats were hot as they managed 10 hits in the game. Leading MCHS at the plate were Kyle Deering who went 2 for 4 at the plate, with 2 runs; Josh Hudson who went 1 for 4 at the plate, with 1 run; Johnathan West who went 1 for 3 at the plate, score 2 runs and getting credit for 3 RBIs in the game.

On April 28, MCHS traveled to Greenbrier for a 1-11 loss.

The Tigers jumped out to 1 -0 lead early in the top of the first inning. Despite getting close to scoring a coupe of pother times in the game, the Tigers were unable to close the deal.

MCHS managed to get 6 hits in the game, with Kyle Deering going 1 for 4; Ross Brawner going 1 for 3; Johnathan West going 1 for 3; Brian Allen going 1 for 3; Reagan Newberry going 1 for 3; and Hayden Shrum going 1 for 3 at the plate.

The Tigers ended the season with a record of 21-11 overall.
