Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Marvin Ricketts is bringing 30 years of Hwy Patrol experience to Macon County.

Lt. Ricketts will fill the vacancy that THP Lt. Vic Donoho left in the early part of March.

He is currently over Dekalb, Smith, Trousdale, and Macon County. Lt. Ricketts stated that Sgt. Avera will remain the acting supervisor for the Macon County area.

Ricketts currently lives in Warren County and would love to be in Macon County every day, but that is almost impossible. If someone needs to reach him they can contact the Cookeville office at 931-528-8496 or contact one of the other THP officers at the Lafayette Post at 666-3618. He will be in Macon County on a weekly basis. He also stated that the county will not see any administrative changes.

He is married to Caroline and they have one son. Prior to becoming a THP officer he worked in the newspaper business for 13 years.
