According to a report from the LPD, Roger Thompson stated that he was in the shower at the residence on Bennett Street. Reportedly when he exited the shower he could not locate his wallet or his truck keys.
The 1990 Dodge Dually 4x4, a company truck owned by Will T. Moto Fuqua of the Wixtown Community, was reported stolen to LPD Officer Timothy Hackett.
Information provided by Thompson led Officer Hackett to determine that the vehicle was taken by a male subject at the residence.
The LPD received information Saturday, March 8, that the suspect, Marshall, had returned to Tennessee.
Lafayette Police Captain Phil Russell, Officer Kevin Woodard, and Officer William Head went to the residence Marshall was believed to be at. They were then able to take Marshall in to custody.
He was taken to the Macon County Sheriff's Department and charged by Lafayette Police Lt. Bryan Sattefield with theft over $10,000 in connection with the stolen truck.
It was then discovered that Marshall had unrelated outstanding charges against him. He is scheduled to appear before Judge J.O. Bond in Criminal Court April 12.
The vehicle was recovered by the Kentucky State Police at approximately 2:30 p.m. December 15.
