The win over Lipscomb at David Lipscomb tied MCHS for 1st place in District 8AA rankings.
In an article appearing in Monday's Tennessean, MCHS Senior guard Heather Moore was quoted as saying, ''It makes us feel good about ourselves. I don't think we have beat Lipscomb in three years. They came in and beat us in our gym, but we beat them more than they beat us, so I think we accomplished what we wanted to.''

Scott hit a 3- pointer with 5:39 remaining to cut the Lady Mustangs' lead to two. Then, two free throws from Kristen Wix tied the score at 40-40 with 5:07 remaining.
Scott then tipped a Lipscomb pass. Moore picked up the ball, sprinted the length of the court and was fouled on her lay-up attempt. Moore made one of her two free throws to give the Tigerettes the lead, then followed with a 3-pointer to put Macon County ahead 44-40 with 3:59 left.
Lipscomb pulled within two, but another 3-pointer from Moore, her fourth of the night, put Macon County ahead 47-42 with 1:29 remaining.
With the Lady Mustangs in a situation where they had to foul the Tigerettes, MCHS connected on 6-of-9 free throws to protect their lead.
''I keep telling them there are crucial baskets during the game,'' Macon County Coach Gary Carter told a Tennessean reporter. ''There are crucial shots, crucial rebounds, and crucial turnovers. Last game we missed the crucial shot, we turned it over at crucial times and we missed a big rebound, but this game we got those things.''

Moore led the team in scoring with 16 points.
Other Tigerettes scoring in the game included Tricia Carver with 8 Carrie Oldham with 9, Jocosa Scott with 9, Peewee Troutt with 1, Jody West with6, and Kristen Wix with 4.
Earlier in the week, MCHS handed District 8AA opponent Hume Fogg a 63 - 53 defeat on Monday night, February 10.
Macon County went 20 for 23 at the line to help clinch this District 8AA win.
Carrie Oldham led the Tigerettes in scoring, putting up 24 points in the game.
Also scoring for MCHS in the Hume Fogg game were Trisha Carver with 14, Heather Moore with 11, Jocosa Scott with 7, Peewee Troutt with 2, Jody West with 3, and Kristen Wix with 2.
On Tuesday, the Tigerettes faced off against non-district opponent Smith County by a final of 50 - 35.
After being down by one at the half (15 - 14), MCHS outscored Smith County 16 - 4 in the third and 20 - 16 in the fourth to claim the victory.
Carrie Oldham led the Tigerettes in scoring with 16 points, followed by Jocosa Scott with 11 and Jody West with 10 points.
Other Tigerettes putting points on the scoreboard included Trisha Carver with 8, Heather Moore with 3 and Peewee Troutt with 2.
Thursday night, February 13, gave MCHS the chance for a taste of revenge against Westmoreland, who had taken the RBSH Christmas Tournament Championship and a regular season win from them
In their second scheduled meeting of the season, the Tigerettes gained control early, as they jumped out to a 20 - 12 lead in the first quarter.
By the half, MCHS had built a 42 - 21 lead that the Lady Eagles were unable to handle.
MCHS won the game by a final of 61 - 48.
Heather Moore led the Tigerettes in scoring with 18 points in the game.
Carrie Oldham added 16 points to the winning effort.
Trisha Carver also managed double digits in the game with 12 points.
Other Tigerettes putting points on the scoreboard included Jocosa Scott with 7, Peewee Troutt with 3 and Jody West with 5.
The Macon County Soccer League will hold their coaches meeting schedule this Saturday, February 22. All coaches are required to attend the meeting. The meeting will be held in the Tri County EMC Community Room beginning at 8:30 a.m.
In addition, the teams will be announced in the next two weeks, as soon as uniforms are ordered.
Practice in the league will begin on March 24, which will allow two weeks of practice for every team before the season begins on April 5. NO team is allowed to begin practice before that time.
