The Macon Jr. Pro Basketball League finally was able to begin the year this past Saturday with some very good action packed games. In the 6-8 girl's division, the 1st game had Christine Harris's team defeating William Tuck's team 22-16. For Coach Harris, Haley Harris had 17 points, Michaela Thompson and Connor Murphy had 2 points each and Ashlyn Smith had 1 point. For Coach Tuck, Katelyn Bean had 8 points, Jessica Lancaster had 6 points and Ashley Spivey had 2 points. The 2nd game had Jeff Gregory's team over Jan Ellis's team 27-13. For Coach Gregory, Kelsey Gregory had 14 points, Courtney Sliger had 6 points, Loren White had 4 points, Terra Pryor had 2 points, and Whitney Wilburn had 1 point. For Coach Ellis, Kailyn Brooks had 10 points, Courtney King had 2 points and Macy Kemp had 1 point.

For the 6-8 boy's division the 3rd game had Brad Garmon winning over Spencer Shrum 20-18. For Coach Garmon, Trey McPherson had 16 points, Tyler Clark and Matthew Woodard had 2 points each. For Coach Shrum, Jacob McClard had 9 points, Dallas Grace had 4 points, Dillon White had 3 points and Shane Hesson had 2 points. The 4th game had Rick Clark defeating Phillip Baker 34-5. For Coach Clark, Peyton Clark had 12 points, Ian Whittemore had 10 points, Zachary Polston had 6 points, Garrett Crowe had 4 points and Ethan Phillips had 2 points. For Coach Baker, Daniel Gregory had 4 points and Mitchell Baker had 1 point.

For the 9-12 girl's division, the 5th game had Scott Key over Dustin Marr 17-16. For Coach Key, Tori Key had 9 points, Niki Pedigo had 4 points, and Shannon Patterson and Chelsea Proffitt had 2 points. For Coach Marr, Aime Sadler had 6 points, Kirstin Gregory had 4 points and Chelsea Holland, Janna Parker and Kayla Sutton had 2 points each. The 6th game had Tim Farley over Tonya Wells 21-3. For Coach Farley, Ciara Green had 9 points, Brianna Farley had 5 points, Elizabeth Patterson had 4 points, Jessica Reeves had 2 points and Jaclyn Jordan had 1 point. For Coach Wells, Lauren Clardy had 2 points and Courtney Patterson had 1 point.

In the 9-12 boy's division, the 7th game had Michael Evetts over Michael White 19-11. For Coach Evetts, Nathan Rogers, Jordan Lankford, and Cody Murphy had 5 points each and Josh Brawner had 4 points. For Coach White, Craig White and Charles Loring had 4 points each, and Tyler Meador and Caleb Darnell had 2 points each. The last game of the day had Christina Carnahan over Gary Kepley 33-16. For Coach Carnahan, Max Manion had 10 points, Joseph Woodard had 9 points, Zachary Kempf had 8 points, Andrew Kempf had 4 points and Zachary Carter had 2 points. For Coach Kepley, Terry Key had 12 points and Jonathon Roark and Ben Cook had 2 points each.

There will be more exciting games this coming Saturday, so everyone needs to come out and watch these young men and young women in action.
