It was another hot but beautiful Saturday afternoon this past weekend for our jamboree as we had an estimated crowd of over 1000 people that came out to watch all of the teams and cheerleading squads play or cheer their hearts out. Hats off to all of the coaches for their hard work to try and get ready for this jamboree.

Our season will begin this coming Saturday, September 14 at 12:00 noon. Each of our first five 12:00 games will be a radio game and will be broadcast live on WEEN 1460 AM. I would like to ask the community to come out and support our kids for the next six weeks. The programs for our league should be available this coming Saturday and are being printed by C&R Enterprise here in Lafayette.

I have asked each of the head coaches for both the younger division and the older division to turn in the stats for each game to the press box immediately following their game each week. It will be the responsibility of each of the coaches to get this turned in or their stats will not make it into the newspaper for that week's game.

On a personal note: We have had a hard time this year with our cheerleading company by not receiving all of our uniforms in a timely manner. There are a few uniforms and pom-poms that are still not in. I want to apologize to the parents and to the girls for this and hopefully they will be in soon. We, as a league, will do what we can to improve this situation for next year. We may even need to change companies again.

Once again, I would like to stress to everyone to continue to work together for the best interess of ALL of the kids in the league, not just for a few certain ones or one or two teams. If we continue to work together, our league will always by successful.
