Funeral services for Essie Mae York Hesson, age 94, of the Winklers Community in Macon County, Tn, were conducted July 17, 2002 from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Pallbearers were Greg Sadler, Gary Vinson, Bill Vinson, Donnie Crawford, Sammy Morgan and Edward Tucker. Interment was in the Rocky Hill Cemetery, Lafayette, Tn.

Essie Mae York Hesson passed away July 14, 2002 at University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tn.

Essie Mae York was the daughter of the late Bill and Minnie Rains York. She was married to Willie Franklin Hesson on February 3, 1931 who preceded her in death on October 21,2000. She was also preceded in death by brother Alvin York. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include daughter, Doris Roma of Phoenix, Az, son and daughter-in-law David and Patsy Burton of the Winklers Community, sisters Mrs. Vera Hale and Mrs. Eva Moore and brother Calvin York, all of Lafayette, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
