Mary Hughes Goad, a resident of Westmoreland Care and Rehab Center, and formerly of Fountain Run, KY and Scottsville, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.

The Fountain Run, KY native was born Thursday, August 10, 1916, a daughter of the late Bass Goad and Maude Jones Goad. She was a homemaker and a member of Fountain Run First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two nephews, Carl S. Goad, Jr., Gallatin, TN and Roger (Marsha) Goad, Lafayette, TN; sister-in-law, Ellen Goad, Fountain Run, KY; one niece, one great-niece, one great-nephew. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, B.C. Goad, Carl Goad, and Fred Goad; and two sisters, Eula Thomas and Ruby Downing.

Funeral services for Mary Hughes Goad were conducted Saturday, June 15, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Bottoms officiating. Burial was in Fountain Run Cemetery. Pallbearers were Darren Davis, Joseph Crass, Brian Brooks, Joe Cornwell, Kenny Reagan, and James Gordon Williams.
