According to the report from the Macon County Sheriff's Department and Detective Robin Gregory a search warrant was executed at 803 Due West Drive.
Detective Gregory, Chief Fisher, Sgt. Hudgens, Sgt. Taylor, Deputy Cothron, and Deputy Wright respond to Due West Drive after receiving information stating that methamphetamine was being stored at this residence.
Deputy Cothron entered the residence after announcing he was with the Macon County Sheriff's Department and made contact with a female occupant and observed Arlis Hewitt, Jr., Scotty Turner, and Ricky Wix sitting at the kitchen table. They were working with several glass containers that held separated clear liquids.
At this time Hewitt attempted to exit the room with one of the containers. Deputy Cothron stopped Hewitt before he could exit.
The MCSD detected a strong chemical smell and observed the containers on the table along with several other items consistent with the manufacture of meth amphetamine in the kitchen.
After a more extensive search, several syringes were found. A plate, located in one of the bedrooms, held an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine.
Department Enforcement Agency was once again called. A cleanup crew accompanied them to log and destroy the evidence.
Other evidence that was seized included items from Hewitt's car. These were, finished methamphetamine, a loaded 22 pistol, several bottles of pills, a set of scales, an RC Cola can with a false top and two notebooks containing methamphetamine recipes.
Hewitt, Turner, and Wix were transported to the Macon County Justice Center where they were questioned and released.
