Dora May Shockley Sloan, 74, of Scottsville, KY died at 8:39 A.M. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the medical Center in Bowling Green. The Scottsville, Ky native was a homemaker, a former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing, Holland Industries and Kentucky Apparel. She was a daughter of the late Charles Gott and Mary Thelma Stewart Gott Rainey and wife of the late Layton Ervin Shockley and J.D. Sloan.

She is survived by 5 sons: mark Shockley and wife, Thersa, Franklin,KY; Allen Shockley; Dewayne White; Robert Dale Woods and Terry Joe “Groundhog” Woods and wife, Wendy, all of Scottsville,KY; 1 daughter: Barbara Joyce Farley and husband, Bobby, Adolphus, KY; 1 son-in-law: William Sanders, Lafayette, TN; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 unborn great great grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Debbie Sanders; 1 sister: Mary Jane Stinson and 2 2 brothers: Edward “Cap” Gott and Larry Rich; 2 grandchildren: Robert Allen Sanders and Joyce Faye Sanders.

Funeral services for Dora May Shockley Sloan will be 3 P.M. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Elvis Farley and Bro. Mark Townsend officiating and burial in Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 P.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home. www.goadfh.com
