Wreck throws driver into back seat
A 21-year-old man sustained head and probable internal injuries in a one vehicle wreck on Hwy 141 Tuesday morning. Harley Daniel Davis was driving a Honda Civic south on the highway when he lost control on a curve and crossed the center line. County Commission asks TDOT to hurry on Hwy 10
The Macon County Legislative Body met in regular session on Monday, May 20. In it, several minutes of discussion were devoted to the Hwy 10 renovation project. County Mayor Shelvy Linville placed a resolution before the commissioners requesting that T-DOT complete the renovation project more urgently. Lafayette Municipal Airport awarded $19,000 grant
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced last week that state aeronautics grants totaling $316,650 have been approved for seven Tennessee airports. Among these was our own Lafayette Municipal Airport in Macon County. The grant is for $19,000 and will be matched by $1,000 of county money. The Macon County Health Department on Hwy 52 in Lafayette was broken into over the weekend, sometime between closing time Friday and Sunday at about noon.
