On Friday, the Macon County Tigerettes did battle against a very talented Westmoreland Lady Eagles team. The Lady Eagles had only lost three games coming into Macon County, so the Tigerettes had a tough challenge. However, the Tigerettes beat the Lady Eagles 39-34. This game was a defensive battle throughout.

The first quarter was a slow quarter for both teams. Macon County only scored nine points, and Westmoreland only scored five points. However, Westmoreland scored big in the second quarter, putting up eleven points, while the Tigerettes only scored six. The Tigerettes were down 16-15 at the end of the first half.

The Tigerettes came out in the third quarter slow also. The Tigerettes only scored nine points in the third quarter, while Westmoreland scored thirteen. The Tigerettes were down 29-24 at the end of the third quarter. However, once the fourth quarter started, the Tigerettes took command on offense and defense. The Tigerettes only allowed the Lady Eagles to score five points in the fourth. Meanwhile, Macon County erupted for fifteen points! The Tigerettes hit one of their two threes in this quarter. Macon County went on to win the game 45-39 thanks to the fourth quarter outburst.

Terra Pryor led the Tigerettes in scoring with thirteen points. Kelsey Gregory had nine points. Gregory also hit the two three pointers the Tigerettes had. Leah Anderson had seven, Kailyn Brooks had six, and Briley Driver had four points.

The Tigerettes next game was a make-up game against Gallatin on Saturday. The Tigerettes dominated Gallatin in every aspect of the game, beating them 50-34.

The first quarter was an absolute blowout. Macon County began beating down on Gallatin, and the score at the end of the first quarter was 17-4 Macon County! In the second quarter, Gallatin put up a little more of a fight, outscoring Macon County 12-11. The score at halftime was 28-16.

The second half was closer than the first. After both teams scored nine in the third and made it 37-25, the Tigerettes scored thirteen in the final quarter to secure the game 50-34.

Terra Pryor led the team in scoring with fourteen points. Pryor had a one of the team’s three three pointers. Kailyn Brooks had ten points with a three. Kelsey Gregory had eight points. Leah Anderson and Briley Driver had five points each. Reese Shrum had three points, and Lyndsey Belton had one point.
