Macon County General Hospital is participating in the Pink Glove Dance Video contest this year, and they need your help. They have a chance to win a $10,000 donation to Relay for Life.

The video contest is only for medical institutions to enter, and is intended to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Every participating hospital has produced a “Pink Glove Dance” video of its own. The race is on!

Voting begins Friday, October 12—so it’s just about time to go to www.pinkglovedance.com, view the video, and help your local hospital out in the name of fighting breast cancer. Voting ends October 28, so there’s not much time.

MCGH produced their video with the help of Kyle Jones, dozens of hospital employees, family members, and doctors, MCHS cheerleaders, and Macon county EMS. You’ll recognize a host of familiar faces, although they’ll be wearing accessories and pulling off dance moves you might not have seen before.

The videos are judged on the following criteria:

• Originality: 25%

• Creativity: 25%

• Video Production Quality: 25%

• Appeal to Audience: 25%

• Internet VOTES

The winners will be announced on November 2. In addition to the $10,000 1st prize, there is a $5,000 2nd prize and a $2,000 3rd prize.

Before the start of the 2013 Red Boiling Springs commencement, the graduating seniors took a moment to gather around a special memorial at Red Boiling Springs High School to say a prayer for a fellow classmate. This memorial at RBSHS is a tree that was planted in the memory of Brandon Tidwell. Brandon would have been a 2013 graduate of RBSHS but his life was tragically cut short, at age 15, in an accidental shooting on June 7, 2010.
