A woman was arrested on DUI charges after flipping her car and pulling herself out unharmed on Thursday morning.
Diana Lynn Davidson, age 45, of the Rocky Mound community, was traveling north on Rocky Mound Road when the accident occured at about 9:30 AM. According to THP Trooper Danny Fisher, she slipped off the right side of the road, overcorrected twice, and rolled over into the right hand ditch. Fisher said she’d crawled out of the vehicle by the time help arrived.
She was unable to pass several sobriety tests, said Fisher. He said that her balance was so poor they couldn’t get through many of those tests that require a driver to stand on their feet: “…if we’re afraid they’ll fall and hurt themselves we won’t do a lot more with them.”
Davidson was driving a 2000 Saturn Vue. She was charged with one count of driving under the influence (2nd offense), and cited in the court for seatbelt violation, failure to exercise due care, and registration violation (expired tags). She posted $1,000 bail and will be in court on June 12.
