After the Veterans Day Parade, folks gathered in Key Park for a final ceremony and a burger meal sponsored by Walmart.

Dawn Blocker of Walmart welcomed all of those attendees who braved the cold, wet weather, and then the ceremony was opened with Tilly Dillehay’s singing of the National Anthem. Representatives of Lafayette Boy and girl scout troops led the Pledge of Allegiance, and then County Mayor Shelvy Linville and City Mayor Richard Driver said a few words. The guest speaker was veteran G.W. Knight, who told of his time in the Vietnam war after being drafted out of Macon County. Awards and presentations were then made to close the ceremony.
