Danielle Jackson, age 19, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide by recklessness last week after an indictment was handed down in the January 4 meeting of the Macon County Grand Jury.
Jackson was involved in the death of Matthew “Brett” Minchey, who was knocked from his motorcycle in a collision at the intersection of Hwy 10 and Hwy 52 in October of last year.
Jackson was driving the other vehicle involved in the accident; bystanders and law enforcement assert that she failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled directly into Minchey’s path. Minchey was pronounced dead on arrival at Macon County General Hospital.
After the indictment was handed down, Jackson turned herself in at the Justice Center in Macon County, and an arrest was made by Brad Murphy onsite. Her bond was set at $15,000, with a General Sessions court date scheduled for March 25.
