Three meth-related arrests were made in Macon County this week, one after a routine traffic stop for expired tags, one after a probation search, and the third after a narcotics investigation at the Lafayette Dollar General.

On January 14, Deputy Kimball Hall, along with Deputy Pam Whitlow and Det. Donnie Crawford, went with Probations Officers Millie King and Tim Carter to perform a home probation search of Paul Anthony Wallace, 28, at 504 Green Grove Rd, Westmoreland. During the search officers found two coffee filters with white residue in them, which did test positive for methamphetamine in a field test. Officers also found in the bathroom a blue bag containing a clear jar of table salt and two pairs of cutting pliers, which are used to cut batteries to get the lithium out. There was also five feet of black rubber tubing.

Also, while performing the search of the house, the officers found a construction warning light sitting on top of a speaker to a stereo that was being used as a storage spot for drug paraphernalia. Before the officers finished their search, Wallace slipped out through the kitchen and out the garage door without permission to leave the residence. He had already been informed he was going with them back to the jail and fled anyway.

Wallace was later apprehended and charged with one count failure to appear, one count promotion of meth., one count possession of drug paraphernalia, one count possession of SCH II, one count of theft of property, and one count of evading arrest. Court date 1/16. $50,000 bond.

On January 16, Jason G. Long, age 29, was arrested from his vehicle after Officer Danny Meador of the Lafayette Police Department stopped him while patrolling College Street in Lafayette.

After pulling the suspect over, Meador asked for consent to search the vehicle, which he was given. During the consent search he located rolling papers, hemostats, and coffee filters. He also located several batteries, Drano, and lighter fluid inside the vehicle—all components for the production of methamphetamine.

Long, who resides at 3799 Oakgrove Rd, RBS, was given a written citation for the expired registration, and booked with charges of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture and possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is February 13, and bond was set at $60,000.

Two days later Fanessa Lynn Duke, 43, of 745 Hall Lane, Lafayette was pulled over into the Lafayette Dollar Store parking lot for a narcotics search and gave Officer Matt Looper consent to search her vehicle. In the search the officer found methamphetamine in her purse along with some Xanax pills and Hydrocodone. They also found bottles set up for a shake and bake lab in the trunk.

Duke, who was on State Probation, was charged with one count of promotion of methamphetamine, one count of possession of SCH.II and one count of possession of SCH.IV. Her court date is February 20, and bond was set at $60,000.
