The Macon County Sheriff Department rounded up another active meth lab in the newest episode of what is proving to be a season of almost weekly methamphetamine arrests.
Two women, Alecia Bean, 43, and Teresa Marshall, 44, and Matthew White, 25, who was arrested last week in a separate meth incident, were all taken into custody after the active lab was discovered.
“December 6, 2012, I’d done a home visit with probation officer Matthew Hancock,” said Det. Danny Crawford of the Sheriff Department. “On entering the residence, we located one Teresa Marshall and Alecia Bean in the residence. Both females are on state probation; we have the right to search their residence.
“First we located a trash bag with a bottle with some white liquid stuff in it. We continued to search the residence. Then we located in the bedroom a container that had some methamphetamine in it.
“We then found a camouflage bag that had a Smart water bottle, some tubing, lithium batteries, starter fluid, and Drano, which is all consistent with the one-pot method of a shake-n-bake.”
The Smart water bottle contained a meth lab, which was active at the time. The officers called in meth technician Kimball Hall, who deactivated it and called in a meth cleanup truck.
“We then had enough evidence to charge Matthew White with initiation and promotion because it was his camouflage bag,” said Crawford. “And in one of the bedrooms of the residence we located his drivers license.”
The two women were arrested onsite, and White was arrested from the Justice Center when he came in for a DCS court appearance.
White was charged with initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine, and promotion of methamphetamine. He is being held for his January 2 court date. Alecia Jane Bean of 212 Bull Whip Lane, Lafayette, and Teresa Darlene Marshall, of 1790 Carter Branch Road, Lafayette, were each charged with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine, and possession of Schedule II drug (meth). They will also appear in court on January 2, and have each been assigned a bond amount of $50,000.
