A young man and woman were arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine on Sunday, December 2, after two officers responded to a call from scared homeowners.
Sgt. Smith and Dep. Shockley of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department received a call from dispatchers that somebody at 3230 Hanestown Road was “beating on the doors and knocking on the windows,” and that the homeowners inside didn’t know what they wanted.
Upon arriving, they located Craig White, 21 and Holly Marbry, 29, in a vehicle in the driveway, according to Sgt. Crawford. “They got consent to search, and the Deputy located a Smart water bottle under the driver’s seat. He advised the Sergeant, who then contacted meth cleanup. Deputy Kimball Hall responded, and he ascertained that it was an active shake-n-bake meth lab.”
The two were arrested and charged with initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine, and promotion of methamphetamine, charges which carry a bond of $55,000. They will be in court on January 2.
Officers never were able to establish why the two young people had been trying to get into the home, said Det. Crawford: “They didn’t know what they were wanting. It was never clear…” They assume that it was simply the influence of the drug, he said.
In a strange twist, White actually had two siblings arrested for meth and deer hunting out of season last week (see page 3A).
