Methamphetamine-related arrests continue in Macon County’s ongoing war against drugs; this week, there were a total of three individuals charged in the discovery of two separate meth labs.

The first two were involved in the same incident, in the late evening of Thursday, November 2. Deputy Jacob Law received a call concerning a fire, which a Macon resident had noticed on their own land. The complainant had spoken to the individuals there and asked them what they were doing, and they had replied that they were “camping.”

Deputy Law went to the campsite, which was located in a wooded area on Tanyard road. He found three individuals, and a vehicle with an open back door. He said that he spotted, “in plain sight,” three to four components used to make a meth lab. He also spotted Smart water bottle, which contained a blue substance typically used to make a shake and bake.

He placed all three individuals under arrest—one David Wayne Tackett, 25, and one Teri Jo Eden, 24. The third individual was never charged, and his name has been withheld from print.

David Wayne Tackett, 25, of 300 Gamaliel Rd, RBS, was charged with one count of manufacture of narcotics, one count of intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and one count of promotion of methamphetamine. His general sessions court date is set for November 28, 2012 with a $30,000 bond.

Teri Jo Eden, 24, of 970 Hwy 52 Bypass East Apt.6, Lafayette, was arrested charged with one count of possession of schedule IV drugs, one count of intent to manufacture methamphetamine, one count of promotion of methamphetamine and one count manufacturing narcotics. Her general sessions court date is set for November 28, 2012. Bond was set at $35,000.

A separate incident occurred Monday, November 5. Deputy Anthony Warner and Sgt. Mark Brawner were dispatched to 864 Pumpkintown Rd in Red Boiling Springs, at the request of Roger and Shirley Clark.

Upon arrival, the men were informed by Roger Clark that he was concerned for his own safety and that of his wife, because of items he’d discovered in his son’s bedroom that he believed were related to drugs. He gave written consent to the officers to search the residence.

“Upon entering their son’s bedroom,” says Brawner in his written report, “I discovered coffee filters, coleman fuel, and ammonia nitrate in the closet. Inside a chest of drawers I discovered needles, a burned spoon and a white powder that field tested positive for Methamphetamine. A pill container containing white pills believed to be pseudophedrin was found on a nightstand.”

Jeremy Christopher Clark, 34, of 864 Pumpkintown Rd, Red Boiling Springs, was charged with one count of promotion of methamphetamine, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of Sch II. His general sessions court date is November 14, and bond is set at $50,000.
