Christmas Parade

The Macon County Chamber of Commerce is currently preparing for the 2009 Macon County Christmas Parade. This year's parade is scheduled for December 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm. The parade route will begin at the corner Ellington Drive & Highway 52; proceed West to Highway 10 North; through the square; and conclude at the corner of Highway 10 and Akersville Road. The theme for this year's parade is "A Colorful Christmas!" Which is very fitting, when you consider who has been selected as the 2009 Grand Marshall...Nancy Doss!!! She was selected, from a long list of outstanding citizens, to recognize her dedication and contributions to the community through her work with the Macon County Arts Council (MCAC). For more information about the MCAC, please, visit: http://www.maconcountytn.com/arts_council.htm or call Nancy at 615-644-5179.

All interested parties can pick up an entry form at the Leon & Marie Cothron~Macon County Welcome Center (Chamber of Commerce), or look for the form in your local papers. Also, it is available on our website 24/7: www.maconcountychamber.com. There is a $10.00 entry fee for "ALL" entries--including horses and four-wheelers (All proceeds are utilized for the parade). Entry forms must be received by November 21, 2009 to allow time to forward an entry line-up to the media. To be judged, entry must be lined up by 10:30 am. Lineup numbers will be posted on Highway 52 Bypass West starting at the Sunshine Market and working back toward Fleetwood. All horse entries will line-up at Ben Bray Real Estate.
