Last Friday, the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets hosted your Macon County Tigers. After playing an incredibly hard fought game, the Tigers, unfortunately, came up short, losing to Hartsville 35-10.

After the Jackets scored on their first play of the game, many fans thought it would be over quickly. That wasn’t the Tiger’s plan though! After allowing only two more TDs the entire half, the Tigers scored on a punt return by Aaron Carter and made it 21-7 at the half.

After the half, the Tigers weren’t able to get anything going on offense.

Zach Ghazi made one brilliant kick—a 30 yard field goal straight through the uprights—but these would be the only points scored in the second half for the Tigers.

After the game, Coach Randall Smith said that the Tigers did a good job of driving the ball up and down the field and that the offense was “coming along.”

“It’s the little things,” he said. ” we are going to get where we need be.”

The Tigers had thirteen 1st downs in this game and converted 7-15 on third down.

Some very encouraging details from this game: the Tigers only had 3 penalties for 13 yards, and had the ball for nearly 27 of the 48 minutes played. A well disciplined team will win more games than a non disciplined team any day!

Aaron Carter went 9-20 passing with 82 yards and 0 TDs and 0 interceptions. K.J. Kitchens lead the team on receiving, catching 5 receptions for 50 yards. Shane Hesson ran 13 times for 45 yards. The Tigers had 169 yards total.

The week before last, the Tigers played Jo Byrns, losing with a score of 0-7. A reminder: Macon County will play on Thursday, August 30 instead of Friday, August 31 against Goodpasture at 7:00. Come out and support your Macon County Tigers!
