After the Tigerettes victory, all eyes were on the Macon County Tigers as they took on the Gordonville Tigers. If the Macon Tigerettes were Queens of the Jungle, the Macon Tigers were the Kings, as they edged Gordonsville 68-61 in what would prove to be one of the Tigers’ best played games of the year.

Macon County seemed to have a passion to fight in this game. Whether Coach Welch lit a fire under his team or not, you could tell they were ready to go out and win a basketball game. Unfortunately for Gordonsville, they opened their gym doors and allowed us in. The Tigers came out in the first and scored point after point. Gordonsville would hang with us, though. No matter what Macon County seemed to do, Gordonsville seemed to do the same thing. Back and forth the game went, neither team giving an edge.

Macon County came out in the second half doing the same thing they did in the first half: score. Macon County had layup after layup whereas Gordonsville relied on jump shots and threes. Gordonsville missed their threes though, and Macon County grabbed the rebound and went in for layups. Macon County would then clamp down on defense at the end of the game, and go on to secure the victory 68-61.

With two victories, the Tigerettes improve to 5-0 in the regular season. The Tigers also improve to 3-2 on the regular season. Macon County’s next game will be Friday, December 7 against these same Gordonsville Tigers. Only this time, it’s on Macon County’s home court. The Tigerettes and Tigers are going to need your support to win this game. Come out and support your Macon County Tigers!
