Robert Y. “Bob” Cherry, age 74, of Rolling Meadows, IL and formerly of Clay County, TN passed away November 1, 2012 at the Northwest Community Hospital in IL. Graveside Services for Robert Y. “Bob” Cherry were conducted Tuesday morning, November 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Cherry Family Cemetery in the Mt. Vernon Community of Clay County, TN with Kenny Birdwell officiating. His family & friends served as pallbearers.

Bob was born September 28, 1938 in Clay County, TN, one of 9 siblings of the late Vernie & Erma Rich Cherry. He was married to the former Luella Hoefle, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Robert F. “Bobby” Cherry, sister, Janice Cherry and brother, Johnnie Cherry. Bob was a restaurateur and owned Red’s Grill in the Southside, IL from 1986 to 1996. His love and passion for his establishment was recognized by many. Many people were privileged to call Bob a friend.

Survivors besides his wife, Luella include: sisters & brothers-in-law, Linda & Ron Koch, Greenwood, IN, Suzanne & Larry Wayman, Indianapolis, IN, Kathy & Danny Halliburton, Red Boiling Springs, TN, brothers & sisters-in-law, Charlie & Shirley Cherry, Greenwood, IN, Frankie & Susan Cherry, IL, Jackie Cherry, Red Boiling Springs, TN, several nieces and nephews.
