Approximately 700 rainbow trout were released Wednesday, Dec. 9, into the Lafayette City Park Pond. These trout traveled from Lincoln County's Flintville Fish Hatchery. Since rainbow trout are cold-water fish, everyone in the community is encouraged to come out and catch and keep these fish. The limit is seven rainbow trout per day and there is no size limit. You must have a fishing license and a trout stamp license to catch these fish. In addition, you must have a fishing license to catch any kind of fish. Children 12 and under can fish without a license and children 13-15 must have their annual youth combination hunting/fishing license. Another restocking is scheduled for February of 2010.
