Last Friday, Red Boiling Springs High School held their Homecoming game against Sunbright. Homecoming day was kicked off by a parade that passed through Red Boiling Springs earlier that day, followed by the ceremony that was held on the field just prior to kickoff where this years Homecoming Queen, Chelsea Stafford, and Homecoming Sweetheart, Chelsie Carver were crowned. In attendance for this game was Billy Reasons, country music artist, and Shattered Silence. Billy Reasons was presented a RBS football jersey from the Quarterback Club with his name on it. The young men from Red Boiling Springs fought hard but came up just short to Sunbright in a 28-21 loss. The Bulldogs got into the end zone three times on the ground. Once from Brandon Kelley from two yards out, and twice Cody Dickens. The Bulldogs amassed 263 rushing yards against the Sunbright defense, as Dickens ran for 77 total yards, Brandon Kelley rushed for 135 yards, and Ben Halsell rushed for 51 yards. Red Boiling Springs connected three times through the air to three different receivers. Tyler Moss had a twelve yard reception. Ben Halsell had an eleven yard reception, and Shelton Watson caught one pass for twelve yards totaling 35 yards in the air. The Bulldogs are now 2-3 as they prepare to face off in a region game against the Gordonsville Tigers at home.
