Clay County Sheriff's Deputies arrested four individuals who are charged in connection with the burglary of an apartment at 130 Witcher Hollow Road this past Sunday night.
"Officer Jesse Gentry responded to a 911 call which came from the apartment's resident, Bryan Thompson, who stated that two men and two women had entered his home and were removing his property," related RBS Police Chief Terry Tuck.
Thompson was not in his residence at the time of the incident, but when Clay County authorities arrested Jamey Wayne Holland, 34, David Roy Masters, 22, Amanda Danielle Caruso, 24, and Katie Beth Slayton, 19, they found Holland in possession of an unregistered handgun. The four had driven from Red Boiling Springs to Domer's Tavern, located on the Racetrack Road near Hermitage Springs in Clay County.
Authorities located Thompson's stolen property, hidden on the roadside of Hance Hollow Road. Items taken from the apartment included hunting and fishing equipment, a small television and items of clothing. One of the women was reported to be wearing one of Brian Thompson's shirts at the time of the arrest, which came just 45 minutes after the burglary.
Clay County deputies also found a quantity of brown powder believed to be methamphetamine in the possession of one of the burglars. Clay County Chief Deputy Brandon Boone said this Tuesday that drug charges are pending against one or more of the quartet in his county.
Bryan Thompson was not confronted by the armed individuals, but is reported to have overheard one of them yell back words to the effect of "...don't forget the gun!" to the last person to leave the apartment.
