Norman Luttrell Holleman, of the Lock 4 Community, a native of Smith County, was born on Thursday, July 25, 1907, to the late Mack Henry and Lillie Mae McCall Holleman. He departed this life on Friday morning, December 28, 2012 at the age of 105 years.

Funeral services for Norman Holleman were conducted from the Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31st under the direction of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Reverend Jerry Wallace and Reverend Felix Snell officiating. Interment followed in Crestview Memory Gardens.

On April 15, 1927, he was married to the former Miss Erma Bell Shepherd, spending 80 years together until her death in 2007. Norman had worked as a mule trader and also in the real estate market.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy Watkins and Shirley Avaritt; and three grandchildren. He is survived by grandson and his wife, Mickey and Rose Avaritt of Gallatin; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Jeanette Holleman of Kentucky; sisters, Mary of Oklahoma, Virginia of Nashville, and Jean Stewart of Gallatin; 7 great-grandchildren.
