MCJH Soccer Team finishes 5th in Middle TN Soccer Conference

The MCJHS boys soccer team ended their first season Saturday, May 6, at the Middle TN Soccer Conference tournament at Walter Baird's soccer field.

At 7:45 a.m. the Tigers played Friendship Christian. The Tigers defeated the Commanders with a score of 5-2. Scoring for the Tigers were William Ilia, Taylor Whittaker, and Garrett Emberton with one goal each and Jonathan Smith with two goals. The team advanced to play the West Wilson Wolves at 10:40 a.m. where they were defeated with a score of 3-1. Scoring for the Tigers was Chris Wisdom. The Tigers placed 5th among ten teams, a very respectable finish for their first season. Making the All Tournament team was Ben Cook and Tyler Kepley.

On Tuesday, April 11, the MCJHS Soccer teams traveled to Walter Baird in Lebanon to meet Thurman Frances from Smyrna. The Varsity Tigers were defeated by Thurman Frances with a score of 3-1. Scoring for the Tigers was Jonathan Smith. The Jr. Varsity Tigers were also defeated by Thurman Frances with a score of 3-0.

On Wednesday, April 12, West Wilson traveled to Macon County. West Wilson defeated the Varsity Tigers with a score of 4-0. The Jr. Varsity Tigers, however, tied with West Wilson with a score of 1-1. Scoring for the Tigers was Kenton Curtis.

On Thursday, April 20, Mt. Juliet Christian traveled to Macon County. Mt. Juliet Christian defeated the Varsity Tigers with a score of 5-2. Scoring for the Tigers were Jonathan Smith and Tyler Kepley. Mt. Juliet Christian also defeated the Jr. Varsity Tigers with a score of 1-0.

On Monday April 24, the Southside Saints traveled to Macon County. The Varsity Tigers defeated the Saints with a score of 9-1. Scoring for the Tigers was Ben Cook, Taylor Whittaker, and Chris Wisdom with two goals each and Garrett Emberton, Ethan Shrum, and Tyler Kepley with one goal each. The Jr. Varsity Tigers also defeated the Saints with a score of 2-1. Scoring for the Jr. Varsity Tigers were Will Hayes and Kenton Curtis.

On Thursday, April 27, the Tigers traveled to Walter Baird. The Varsity Tigers tied Walter Baird with a score of 1-1. Scoring for the Tigers was Garrett Emberton.

On Friday, April 28, the Tigers once again traveled to Walter Baird to meet Kittrell. The Varsity Tigers defeated Kittrell with a score of 7-0. Scoring for the Tigers was Taylor Whittaker with two goals and Jonathan Smith, Ben Cook, Tyler Kepley, Elliot Sandifer, and Brad Centers with one goal each.

On Monday, May 1st, Davidson Academy traveled to Macon County. The Varsity Tigers tied Davidson Academy with a score of 2-2. Scoring for the Tigers was Ben Cook with both goals. However, the Jr. Varsity Tigers were defeated with a score of 2-1. Scoring for the Jr. Varsity was Kyle Hale.
