The Macon underclassmen tallied 5 scores in the 1st inning on 2 hits and 4 walks. Defensively, the Tigerettes held the opponents scoreless throughout the 5 inning affair. Sophomore Maghen Brawner fired a 1 hitter at the Kentuckians - striking out 5 in the process. The Tigerettes added 2 more runs in the 4th inning to win the game by a score of 7-0.
Freshman 2nd baseman Dani Tirjan led MCHS at the plate going 2 for 3. Jordan White had the only extra base hit of the game with a lead-off double in the 1st inning. Rebecca Carter, Natalie Tuck, and Chelsea Blankenship also collected 1 single each during the game.
In the RBI department, Dani Tirjan and Chelsea Blankenship knocked in 2 while Maghen Brawner, Rebecca Carter, and Natalie Vanderboss each pushed 1 run across home plate.
Brawner's JV pitching record improved to 2-1 with the victory.
The Tigerettes emerged victorious in the the second game, winning easily 8 to 1.
Jordan White pitched a 2 hitter over the 5 inning game striking out 4 and pushing her JV record to 5 wins against 2 losses.
At the plate the MCHS leaders were Maghen Brawner, who went 3 for 4 with 2 singles and a double. Jordan White and Kayla Linville (in her second game back from injury) each had 2 singles in 3 official at bats. Junior Lindsay O'Hair also turned in a multiple hit game, going 2 for 4 with a pair of singles. Chelsea Blankenship, Natalie Tuck, and Dani Tirjan all hit one single during the match.
Natalie Tuck and Jordan White shared RBI honors with 2 each. Lindsay O'Hair and Chelsea Blankenship gathered 1 RBI a piece.
With the 2 wins the Tigerette JV extend their record to 7 wins 3 losses and 1 tie.
By this reading, the Tigerette Senior members, Annie Beth Coley, Tabby Key, Kayce Wilson, and Elizabeth Yokley should be back from Senior Trip to help the Tigerettes close out the regular season and have already completed an important district game at home against Hume-Fogg. The game will have most likely helped determine final seedings before the district tournament begins on Friday May 7, with the 1st round of district tourney games being played at the sight of the higher seed. The surviving teams will then gather at Springfield, TN on Monday, May 10 to begin the double elimination tournament with the 1st and 2nd place finishers advancing on to regionals.
