Mike Cobb, NFL player for the Chicago Bears from 1978 through 1981, visited MCHS on Wednesday, October 10 to give a positive inspirational talk for the students. Cobb is on a three day tour of Middle TN schools as part of his association with Sports World, a nationwide nonprofit ministry.

Sports World keeps a roster of former professional athletes from every sport, and sends them across the US to share personal experiences and encourage students towards positive choices. Cobb will bring his own message of hope to several other schools in addition to Macon this week—Decalb Co., Gordonsville, Smith Co., Trousdale Co., Gallatin, and John Trotwood Moore Middle in Nashville. “Basically the whole 40th district,” said State Rep. Terri Lynn Weaver, who was instrumental in getting the speaker to come to this area.
