Mr. Don Robertsm, 59, of the Hogans Creek Community in Smith County died at his home on Friday morning, August 20, 2004 at the age of cancer.

Services by Rev. Alvin Hitchcock were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial following the 3:00 p.m. services was in the Ridgewood Cemetery.

Born Ted Donald Roberts in Cookeville on February 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert Austin and Leva Mai "Mammy" Wilson Roberts.

Mr. Roberts owned and operated Don's Bait Shop at Defeated Creek for nine years. He attended the Carthage Church of God on Main Street South in South Carthage.

Surviving is a daughter, Tina Barlow of Hillsdale; very devoted friend, Darlene Hale of Hogans Creek; one granddaughter and great-grandson; sister, Louise Scurlock of Nashville; two brothers, Bobby Roberts of Hogans Creek, and Fred Roberts of Bradford Hill.
