Religious Debate

There will be a religious debate between Roger Holland & Lawrence Williamson at The Donoho Hotel in Red Boiling Springs, TN on November 13 & 14 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The topic of discussion will be: “Is Water Essential for Salvation?”.



Gospel meeting at Willette Church of Christ

Barry Grider is the preacher for the Forest Hill church of Christ and a part time faculty member of the Memphis School of Preaching. He is the editor of the local church bulletin, The Forest Hill News. His sermons are presented live each week via the Internet and are also broadcasted on the Gospel broadcasting Network. Barry has preached in lectureships and gospel meetings in 20 states and 9 foreign countries. He is married with one son and two daughters.

It will be held Nov. 11-12 Wednesday evening 7:00-8:30.

Fellowship Meeting

There will be a fellowship meeting Saturday, November 14th at Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church. Services begin at 11:00 AM. Preaching will be by Bro. Scott Hauskins from Indianapolis, IN. Lunch to follow . Singing will be at 2:00 PM. No business will be conducted. Everyone is invited.

Bro. Travis Garner will preach at the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church Sunday night November 15th at 6:00 PM.

Bro. Joey Uhls will preach at Days Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, November 15 at 11 AM.

Austin to Preach

Bro. Todd Austin will preach at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in the Williams Community on Sunday, November 15th at 6 PM.

Meeting

Lafayette Chapter #379 Order of the Eastern Star stated meeting Thursday night, November 12 at 7:00 PM. They will have their Friendship Night on November 14th at 7:00 PM. There will be a covered dish meal at 6:00 PM held at the VFW hall across the street from the chapter. All members are urged to attend.

Thanksgiving Service

Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church will have a special Thanksgiving service on Sunday, November 22nd. There will be a pot luck dinner in the basement at 5:30 PM. Church services will be at 7:00 PM. Bro. Tim Case will be the visiting preacher. Everyone is invited.

100th Anniversary

Celebration

Martin’s Chapel General Baptist Church at 112 Old Martin’s Chapel Road in Portland, TN will have a 100th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, December 6th. Sunday school at 10:00, Worship at 11:00. Lunch to follow. In the afternoon about 1:30, a history of the church will be shared.

Gospel Singing

Benefit Singing

Garrett’s Creek Church located four miles north of Westmoreland, TN on Hwy. 31E N. will be having a benefit singing to help out on funeral expenses for Brenda Mungle Hauskins who passed away in October. The singing will be held on Saturday, November 21st beginning at 6 PM. There will be several groups and individuals from various churches coming to help out with the singing. Please come on out and be with us that night. Any donation for the funeral expense will be greatly appreciated. For more information, contact Ken Hauskins at 615-644-5304 after 3:30 PM.

There will also be a booth at the Craft Fair at the Macon County High School in Lafayette, TN that will sell items with the sales going to help with funeral expenses also. The booth is called “Trisha’s Crafty Creations”. The Craft Fair is on Saturday, Nov. 145th from 9 AM to 6 PM.

Brother Daniel Cook will preach at Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM.

Knife Show

The Lafayette Lions Club will sponsor a knife show on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Sally Wells Building in the Macon County Fairgrounds from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission for adults is $3.00. Chili Supper

West Macon County Rescue Squad’s 2nd Annual Chili Supper and Raffle will be held on November 21, 2009 at 5:00 PM. Raffle starts at 7:00 PM at the Crossroads Community Center on Rocky Mound Rd. Live Music from The Golden Outlaws. Cake Walk starts around 7:30 PM There will be door prizes. Admission is $5.00 and includes chili supper. Raffle tickets are available from any squad member. 1 ticket - $1.00, 7 tickets $5.00, 15 tickets - $10.00. Tickets will also be available at the event until 6:45 PM.

Fall Spectacular Pageant

The fall spectacular pageant will be Saturday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at Westside Elementary School.

Registration is 9:30 a.m.

Stage Production

The Thomas House & Stagestruck Productions present “The Obituary Club” on November 13, 14, 20, & 21, 2009. The play is written and directed by Misty Embry and performed by The Stagestruck Players.
