Trousdale County beat Red Boiling Springs Junior High 44-24 on Thursday night.
With the loss, RBS' record goes to 10-6 with three regular-season games to play before the post-season tournament begins.
Of those three, perhaps this coming Monday's game is the biggest. It's RBS vs. Macon County.
RBS coach Dustin McKinney told the Times on Friday afternoon that he hopes the upcoming game with Macon County had something to do with his team's performance against Trousdale County.
Fact is, though, Trousdale County just came out hot, hitting four 3-pointers in the first quarter.
RBS had beaten Trousdale by 16 points earlier this season at Trousdale.
"Their coach said they played their best game of the year," McKinney said.
Said McKinney: "We have a young team right now and it kind of shook us a little bit and we never really recovered from it."
McKinney said players from both Macon County and RBS junior high school get excited about playing against each other.
"Oh yeah, man!" McKinney said. "I'm hoping that's why we didn't play so well -- they were looking forward to Monday night."
