The Tigers saw a lot of action in baseball this week beginning with two district games and ending with a tournament held at East Robertson High School in Cross Plaines, TN.

In district action, Tigers would face DeKalb Co. Game 1: Tigers would get a must needed win holding DeKalb to 2 runs for the game. Senior pitcher Johnny Brown would get the win with 7 strikeouts, 10 hits, and 3 walks. Kristopher Boone would go 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs, Justin Woodard 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Final score 5 – 2.

Game 2: The Tigers would face DeKalb on their home field in Smithville. Justin Woodard would take the mound for Macon Co to hold the DeKalb Tigers off for five innings of play.

DeKalb would score 3 runs in the sixth inning and would win the game 3 – 0. Woodard had 2 strikeouts, allowed 2 walks. Boone would get the only 2 hits by Macon Co batters going 2 for 3.

In Tournament play, Macon would face Westmoreland, Jo Byrns, East Nashville and Gordonsville. The Tigers added four more losses to their record. Errors continue to plague the Tiger’s defensive performance on the field. The results of each game were:

MC vs Westmoreland 2 – 4 MC vs Jo Byrns 2 – 5

MC vs East Nash 4 – 10 MC vs Gordonsville 5 – 6

The Tigers will travel to Woodbury on Monday, April 21, to face Cannon Co in district play. Next home game is Tuesday, Apr 22 at 5:00.
